Texas is a big place, with seemingly endless possibilities. Each of the thriving art scenes across the state has different benefits and challenges, and supplementing the monthly and seasonal calendars of gallery exhibitions, museum shows, and artist-run spaces are the annual and semi-annual events that Texas artists and arts professionals have come to rely on. Art fairs in Dallas, Austin, and Houston; art and light-themed one-night only events in San Antonio and North Texas; and biennial and triennial exhibitions have become staples of the Texas art scene. And still, for emerging artists, some of these opportunities may feel out of reach.
